In a world that feels increasingly busy, we often spend our time talking rather than truly listening. We forget that we are not alone. No matter what struggle we face, someone else has walked that path, battled that same fight, or cherished that same joy. It is in those shared moments of vulnerability and connection that we see who people truly are. Loving is natural, but listening? That is a rare and beautiful discipline.
Today, my heart is heavy. I lost two very close friends—people who were the cornerstones of my journey from the very beginning. When I first started with jewelry and then transitioned into apparel, these two incredible souls would travel three hours just to buy a single item from me. They didn't just buy a product; they traveled that distance to show me support, to shower me with love, and to remind me that I was worthy of great things. They believed I could touch lives long before I believed it myself.
I named this brand Ember Spirit Apparel without fully realizing how prophetic that name would become.
When I shared my grief with a loyal customer today, they told me something that shifted my entire perspective: "These people will now live on through your brand. It is called Ember Spirit, and their spirits will live on through everything you create."
That realization touched my heart so deeply that I knew I had to share it with all of you.
These two friends were more than just customers; they were true knowledge carriers. They were the people who fed their communities—not just with wisdom, but with literal food. They lived by a creed that no one should ever go hungry, go without shelter, or feel abandoned. They were pillars of grace and generosity.
It breaks my heart that my grandson, and the generations to come, won't have the chance to meet these beautiful people in person. But that is why this brand exists. By weaving their values of kindness, community, and resilience into the fabric of Ember Spirit, I am ensuring that their legacy remains alive.
