What Is CAWS? Protecting the Vulnerable

Some movements are born in boardrooms. CAWS was born on the street — and that’s exactly where it belongs.

CAWS stands for Children, Animals, Women & Seniors — the four groups most vulnerable to harm, exploitation, and silence. The CAWS — Community Alliance Enforcers collection exists for one reason: to show up for those who are too often overlooked, dismissed, or left unprotected by the systems that were supposed to serve them.

This isn’t a gang. It’s a guardian network. Enforcers are everyday people — neighbours, parents, workers, elders — who choose to be visible allies. They wear the shield not as a threat, but as a promise: I see you. I will not look away.

What Does an Enforcer Do?

Being a CAWS Enforcer means committing to awareness and action in your community. It means being the person who checks in, speaks up, and stands between the vulnerable and harm. It means wearing your values — literally.

The CAWS collection at Ember Spirit Apparel was designed to give Enforcers a way to identify themselves, connect with each other, and carry the mission into every space they enter. From the heavyweight garment-dyed tees to the bold hooded sweatshirts, every piece is built to be worn with purpose.

Wear the Mission

The Quebec Safety Lieutenant Tee features the iconic CAWS crest — a winged shield that signals protection, community, and accountability. The Bouclier Hibou des Gardiens brings the mission into French, reaching every corner of Canada. And the CAWS Thermochromic Tote Bag carries the cause — literally — revealing the Enforcers shield when the heat is on.

When you wear CAWS, you’re not just wearing a graphic. You’re making a declaration. Every piece in the collection is a conversation starter, a signal to your community that you see the vulnerable and you choose to show up.

Who are you protecting today?
